Afternoon Tea at Island Hall
37 club members and guests spent a delightful afternoon at Island Hall Godmanchester, on 11th January 2017. Island Hall is a Grade 11 listed Georgian house on the banks of the river Ouse.
It is the family home of Christopher Vane-Percy, who made us very welcome and gave us an interesting talk about the Hall's history and architecture and the links to his family.
Afternoon tea was served, then we had a tour of the house.

Setting off from Brampton and picking up at Little Paxton the coach soon had us all at the Gardens.
Many of us took advantage of the tourist train to take us all round the grounds before deciding which bits to then visit. A mixture of sunshine and showers as we walked round, the gardens did not disappoint with so many beautiful things to see. Everybody enjoyed the day and a big thank you goes to Helen Galer for organising it so efficiently.

Workshop December 9th 2017
Once again we were happy to welcome back Barbara Collins for our final workshop for 2017.
A beautiful christmas table centre design was our task which Barbara made easy with her clear
instructions and guiding. We created different manipulations with Aspidistra leaves and learnt a few more tricks of the trade and generally had a wonderful morning.

Open Evening 2017
6th December 2017, Huntingdon Town Hall
What a wonderful evening watching Julia Knights present
her "Christmas Alphabet" to an enthusiastic sell out audience. We happily joined in on the many Christmas songs that accompanied each beautiful Christmas Letter arrangement that Julia presented to us. A selection of quiches, stollens and mince pies kept us well replenished and a lovely glass of wine washed it all down nicely.
The arrangements were then raffled at the end of the evening delighting many happy winners.
